City Council Meetings are held the first and third Monday of the month in the City Hall Council Chambers, 616 NE 4th Avenue, Camas, from 7:00 p.m. until adjournment. Note: if a holiday falls on the Monday of a Council meeting, the meeting is held on Tuesday.

Public Comments – There are two public comment periods included on the agenda. Anyone wishing to address the City Council may come forward when invited; please state your name and address for the record. Public comments are typically limited to three minutes, and written comments may be submitted to the City Clerk. Special instructions for public comments will be provided at the meeting if a public hearing or quasi-judicial matter is scheduled on the agenda. If there are items the public wishes to bring to Council that will take longer than three minutes, it is preferred the citizen present this topic to the City Administrator so he can determine if the matter should be scheduled it into a regular meeting.

Agenda – An agenda is created for each meeting and posted as early as the Thursday before each meeting at the Camas Public Library, in the main lobby of City Hall, and on the City’s website at www.cityofcamas.us/index.php/yourgovernment/minuteagendavideo.

Minutes – Each Council meeting is recorded. Minutes of each meeting are transcribed, approved by Council and maintained in the Clerk’s Office. These minutes contain general meeting information and record specific actions taken by the Council and can be found here. A copy of the recording can be purchased from the Clerk’s Office for .75 cents per CD after completing a “Request for Public Records” form.

Council Workshop:
City Council Workshop sessions are held the first and third Monday of the month in the City Hall Council Chambers, 616 NE 4th Avenue, Camas, from 4:30 p.m. until adjournment. Note: if a holiday falls on the Monday of a Council Workshop meeting, the meeting is held on Tuesday.

Public Comments – The public is welcome to attend workshop sessions and will be given the opportunity to address Council at the beginning and end of the meeting. Each speaker is limited to three minutes (the Mayor may suspend this rule). If there are items the public wishes to bring to Council that will take longer than three minutes, it is preferred the citizen present this topic to the City Administrator so he can determine if the matter should be scheduled it into a workshop meeting.

Citizen Participation and Communications with Council Members – The Council encourages citizens to make a difference in their community by participating in Council meetings, community groups, or community causes.

NOTE:
The City of Camas welcomes the participation of its citizens in the public meeting process. Anyone interested may be heard at meetings. In addition, the Clerk’s office will receive written comments at any time between notice distribution and the completion of the meeting.
